Helena offered Nora $500,000.
Cash settlement.
Fresh start.
No more contact with the D’Angelo family.
All Nora had to do was sign.
The statement said she had knowingly lied about Sophie’s paternity.
Nora refused.
Helena smiled.
Then told her refusal would change nothing.
Within a month, Nora lost her apartment.
Her landlord suddenly declined to renew.
A job offer disappeared.
A childcare arrangement collapsed.
