I did not lower the firearm barrel by one inch.
"You used my life as a game, monster!"
My father took a slow, deliberate step inside room.
"I built a global financial empire for you, Grace."
"And tonight, the real work begins for us."
He reached into his inner suit pocket slowly now.
I tightened my grip on the curved trigger guard.
He pulled out a heavy black leather document file.
He set the file onto my hallway glass table.
"Inside this folder is the real global blueprint."
"Adrian and Celeste were just minor pawns on board."
The top target listed on the master page appeared.
The name listed was my attorney, Arthur Miller.
The man who saved me at the altar today.
My father pointed a finger at Arthur's photograph paper.
