Chapter 13 - Tyler’s Last Threat

Tyler pulled out his phone.

“I’m calling your commanding officer.”

General Hale almost smiled.

Tyler stopped.

He had forgotten who was standing in the room.

“I’ll report that she threatened my mother,” he said.

Harper’s face remained still.

“The camera recorded that too.”

“I’ll say she attacked me.”

“You grabbed her,” Hale replied. “Multiple witnesses saw it.”

Tyler looked toward his relatives.

Every one of them avoided his eyes.

Earlier, they had watched silently as Harper was humiliated.

Now they understood their silence had made them part of the trap.

Tyler’s uncle stood first.

“I saw Tyler grab her arm.”

An aunt spoke next.

“Carol tried to take the baby.”

Matt added, “They knew the sample wasn’t Tyler’s.”

Carol stared at the family in disbelief.

“You’re turning against us?”

“No,” Matt replied. “We’re telling the truth.”

Tyler’s anger erupted.

He swept the wine bottle from the island.

It crashed against the floor.

Ava screamed.

Harper immediately turned her body, shielding the baby from the broken glass.

General Hale’s aide stepped between Tyler and everyone else.

Tyler froze.

The violent movement had been captured by three phones and the recovered camera.

Harper felt something inside her settle.

For the first time, she no longer needed Tyler to admit what he was.

Everyone had seen it.

The relatives moved away from him.

Brittany stood beside Harper.

Carol sank onto a chair.

Tyler was finally alone in the center of the room he had called his.

👉 But removing Tyler from the house did not erase the forged debt now attached to Harper’s name.
