Hattie maintained an account in the Cayman Islands.
My goal was to trace the money.
Canyon Crest sent $2.1 million there over eighteen months.

Hattie Cole.
Not Michael.
Not Samuel.

Hattie had been draining the company while borrowing against stolen property.
Then she transferred $600,000 to a trust for someone named Olivia Cole.
Michael said he had no relative named Olivia.
Samuel did.
His face changed.
Olivia was Hattie’s daughter.
“What daughter?” Michael asked.
Samuel looked at him.
“Your sister.”
Michael had been raised believing he was Hattie’s only child.
Samuel said Hattie gave birth to a girl at nineteen.
The child was raised by their aunt in Nevada.

Michael never knew.

She agreed to speak.

Samuel Cole.
Hattie’s brother.
Michael’s uncle.
I stared at it.
Olivia shook her head.
“No. That’s false.”
Samuel insisted it was forged.
A DNA test settled it.
Samuel was not Michael’s father.
Then why create the document?
Olivia remembered Hattie using it during a family inheritance dispute.
Their father’s trust favored male descendants through the Cole line.
If Michael were legally Samuel’s son, he would receive a larger share.
Hattie had manipulated paternity decades before she manipulated property deeds.
The pattern was older than Canyon Crest.
Then Samuel admitted something.
Their father caught Hattie forging the acknowledgment.
He cut her out of part of the trust.
She blamed Samuel.
That feud never ended.
Now Hattie’s loans from Samuel looked different.

Then investigators found emails.
SAMUEL:
One more clean property and I extend the note.
HATTIE:
You said Donna’s would be enough.
SAMUEL:
Then make Donna sign.
