Rachel denied entering my room.
Fingerprint evidence matched her.
Her access badge opened the ICU door.
Rebecca revealed the truth.
She and Rachel were not simply sisters.
They were identical twins who occasionally exchanged roles during investigations to protect witnesses.
The practice was unofficial and illegal.
Rachel claimed Rebecca entered the room using her badge.
Rebecca was in a recorded interview across town.
Both had alibis.

Laura fled the hospital but left a secure-drive key in the room.
The drive contained edited videos portraying Rachel accepting bribes and Rebecca destroying evidence.
Margaret planned to collapse both legal teams through identity uncertainty.
Twins.
Impersonators.
Forgeries.
The family’s strongest weapon was never violence.
It was doubt.
Rachel voluntarily stepped away from the prosecution until federal investigators verified every action.
A new prosecutor, Daniel Hayes, took over.
No family connection.

He required dual authentication for every file and meeting.
The case slowed.

But Vale laboratories had experimented with fingerprint grafting.
Dental records could be altered.
DNA showed they were half brothers, not identical.
The prisoner’s DNA matched Derek.
Then Michael appeared on a live camera from another country.
He held a current newspaper.
The jail prisoner was definitely Derek.
The replacement plan had failed.
Michael offered surrender in exchange for protection from Margaret.
He provided the location of the final archive.
An underground room beneath the Morgan family chapel.
Federal agents entered.
Inside were original marriage certificates, medical extraction logs, and videos of every staged accident.
The archive also contained a recording of my staircase fall from another angle.
After Grant—no, Michael—struck my leg, Margaret approached.
But Derek did not push me.
