Chapter 7

PART 7:

Now the ballroom was silent.

The attorney stood beside Claire with the sealed folder.

Graham stared at him.

“What report?”

Diane found her voice first.

“This is outrageous. She can send whatever fake documents she wants after the wedding.”

The attorney did not blink.

“The report was conducted through a court-approved lab. Chain of custody verified.”

Brielle’s bouquet lowered slowly.

“Graham?”

Graham looked at Claire.

At the children.

At the folder.

He took one step back like the floor had shifted under him.

“No,” he whispered.

Claire’s face hardened.

“That was my first word too.”

The little girl hid behind Claire’s skirt.

The boy kept staring at Graham.

“Mommy,” he whispered again, “is that him?”

Claire knelt beside both children.

She did not answer for Graham.

She looked at him and said, “Tell them.”

The whole room watched him.

For years, Graham had let other people speak for him.

His mother.

His lawyers.

His assistants.

His publicists.

Now two children stood in front of him, waiting for one honest sentence.

Graham’s lips parted.

No sound came out.

Diane stepped forward.

“Do not answer that.”

The attorney turned sharply.

“Diane.”

Her face flickered.

That one word carried history.

The attorney opened the folder and pulled out several pages.

“This report confirms a 99.999 percent probability that Graham Ellison is the biological father of both children.”

A woman in the second row gasped.

Someone dropped a champagne flute.

Brielle covered her mouth.

Graham looked like he had been struck.

The attorney continued.

“There is also evidence suggesting that medical results were withheld from Claire during the divorce proceedings, and that false information was provided to Mr. Ellison regarding the final fertility outcome.”

Graham slowly turned toward his mother.

Diane’s face was white, but her eyes were fierce.

“She trapped you,” Diane said.

Claire stood.

May you like

“No. I carried your grandchildren while you called me barren.”

👉 But when Graham asked if Claire had tried to tell him, her answer destroyed every excuse he had left.
