Okafor smiled.
“You know, Reynolds called you a problem in his final statement.”
Ava turned back.
“He was right.”
Okafor laughed.
Ava looked toward the field one last time.
A place that had been built for humiliation had become a place where the truth stood in daylight.
She had walked in as the woman Brock wanted to embarrass.
She walked out as the reason his victims were finally believed.
And somewhere behind her, on a dozen phones and in one official file, the moment remained forever.
Brock Reynolds screaming.
Ava Hayes standing still.
