Chapter 11 - The Damage My Pride Caused

There was no legal document that could fix that.
No accountant.
No investigation.
Just a father realizing his daughter had carried one sentence for twenty-two years.
I remembered the argument.
Emily stood in my kitchen.
She accused Frank of stealing.
I thought she was trying to justify moving away.
I told her she was reckless.
She shouted that I never listened.

June received a message.
From Emily.
Alive.
She said she was safe.
She did not say where.
She asked only one question:

June answered yes.
Then nothing came back.
