The four-star general read the citation.
Caroline Reed had coordinated an unauthorized rescue after command communications failed.
She crossed an active fire zone repeatedly.
She refused evacuation until every surviving soldier was aboard.

One of those soldiers was Nathan.
He watched the video in silence.
He had been unconscious during the evacuation.

“No.”

The general on the recording promoted Caroline to colonel under a protected operational designation.
Her name remained partially classified because several people connected to the armor investigation were still active.
That secrecy allowed Harrison to pretend she held no rank.
