Chapter 3 - ANNA

Anna Hart was my identical twin.
Declared dead at birth.
Transferred into a Navy family continuity program designed to protect children of intelligence officers.
I remained with Margaret and Harold.
Anna was raised under naval supervision and trained in covert logistics.
Neither of us knew the other existed until Grandma contacted her five years earlier.
Grandma used Anna to test whether the family would recognize a replacement Olivia.
They did not.
Claire saw opportunity.
She studied Anna’s access methods and began impersonating me herself.
The false death record would have removed me legally while Claire inherited the house and the archive.
Anna carried the real brass key.
But she refused to hand it to Evelyn.
“Grandma said the attorney protects the trust, not the heir.”
Evelyn answered, “And she told me the heir would be compromised.”
The room divided around a dead woman’s instructions.
Then Deputy Collins received word that Harold had escaped transport.
The patrol vehicle camera showed a Shore Patrol officer opening the door.
Petty Officer Ellison.
The man who had knelt beside me.
The officer outside my hospital room.
Ellison was gone.
His Navy credentials remained on the floor.
He had helped my father escape.
Why?
Anna looked at the empty doorway.
“Because he isn’t Shore Patrol.”
She recognized him as Commander Daniel Shaw.
May you like
Evelyn’s son.
Another intelligence operative hidden in plain sight.
