Sometimes kind.
Sometimes angry.
Reed denied ever seeing him after the disappearance.
Security footage placed him at police headquarters during several visits.
Another double wore his face too.
The abduction network was not using one replacement.
It maintained multiple fathers.
The hidden folder included a handwritten note from Sarah.

Detective Hayes traced the room in the videos through tile patterns and furnace sounds.
A suburban property owned by Richardson Family Trust.
My mother’s trust.
A house I had never seen.
Then the back door camera recorded motion.
A woman stood in my yard wearing Helen’s face.
Same as the video.
She lifted one finger to her lips.
