Chapter 13 - TEA

I stopped drinking tea for almost a year.
Ridiculous.
Understandable.
One evening Lily noticed.
“You used to drink the orange-smelling one.”
“Earl Grey.”
“Why don’t you?”
I hesitated.
She knew enough.
“Because it reminds me of that night.”
She thought.
Then:
“Does Nora own tea?”
I laughed.
“No.”
“Then drink it.”
Seven-year-old logic.
I made a cup.
Watched the kettle.
Opened the sealed tea tin myself.
Poured water.
Lily stood beside me like a tiny food inspector.
I took a sip.
Nothing happened.
She smiled.
“See?”
“Outstanding medical supervision.”
“I charge money.”
“Of course.”
Tea became tea again.
May you like
Not immediately.
Eventually.
