Federal agents reached the border facility before dawn.
They found Anna restrained but alive.
Walter escaped through an underground drainage tunnel.
The clinic contained twelve infant incubators.
Three were occupied.
Newborns waited for transport with false identification bracelets.
Rebecca ordered emergency protective custody.
Rachel Kim identified company executives connected to the operation.
Genesis Frontier’s CEO, Jonathan Hale, denied everything.
He claimed Walter operated independently.
Then investigators found Hale’s signature on the child-transfer contracts.
The company’s stock collapsed.
Federal prosecutors froze its accounts.
For the first time, the network began breaking publicly.
Margaret offered testimony against Walter in exchange for a reduced sentence.
She admitted attacking me, planning the forced delivery, and helping sell children.
She also admitted something else.
Michael was Walter’s biological son.
Walter selected and raised him as a future enforcer.
Margaret’s role as mother had been part of the conditioning.
Michael had spent his life seeking approval from a woman who had been assigned to control him.
He listened to the confession through the jailhouse glass.
His face became empty.
I did not pity him enough to forgive him.
Understanding explained the road.
It did not erase the damage he chose along it.
Anna returned to the hospital.
Grace watched her carefully.
Three generations sat inside one room, unsure how to belong to each other.
Then Anna showed me a page recovered from the border clinic.
Subject 7 had a designated biological father.
Not Michael.
Walter had used stored material from another donor.
The name was redacted.
A handwritten note read:

And Walter feared him.
