The legal process was slow.
David’s family tried everything.
They hired an expensive attorney.
They said Maya was unstable.
They said Elena had manipulated her.
They said the restaurant incident was “taken out of context.”
But the context was worse than the clip.
That became the problem.
Every piece of evidence made David look less like a man who lost control once and more like a man who had built a system around control.
Rebecca’s reputation suffered too.
For years, she had presented herself as a graceful woman, a leader of charity committees, a defender of “family values.”
Then her recorded words spread through discovery.

Rebecca was removed from two charity boards after donors threatened to pull funding.
The townhouse was sold during the divorce.
Maya kept her job.
Then she got promoted.
The first time she wore red lipstick to work again, she cried in the parking lot before going inside.
