Chapter 7

Daniel fought for months.

He tried to paint Emma as vindictive.

He tried to claim the pregnancy made her unstable.

He tried to tell the court she was using the baby for sympathy.

Then Emma’s son was born.

A healthy boy with dark hair and strong lungs.

The first time Emma held him, the noise of the lawsuits, the cameras, the betrayal, all of it faded.

His tiny hand wrapped around her finger.

And she whispered,

“You were worth every fight.”

Daniel arrived at the hospital the next day with a designer blanket and a photographer outside the lobby.

Emma’s attorney was already there.

So was hospital security.

Daniel was allowed a short supervised visit.

No cameras.

No Olivia.

No performance.

When he saw the baby, something in his face cracked.

Maybe he felt love.

Maybe he felt loss.

Maybe he finally understood that some doors close from the inside.

He looked at Emma.

“We could still fix this.”

Emma did not raise her voice.

“You tried to steal his future before he was born.”

Daniel swallowed.

“I made mistakes.”

“No,” she said. “You made plans.”

That silenced him.

The divorce was finalized eight months later.

Emma kept majority control of the company through the agreement Daniel had signed.

The court awarded her primary custody.

Daniel was ordered to repay misused funds, cover legal costs, and surrender his remaining voting authority.

The fraud case led to a settlement that barred him from serving as an officer in the company again.

His name stayed on the birth certificate.

But it was removed from the building.

👉 On the day the new sign went up, Emma finally saw her name return to the place Daniel tried to steal.
