The chip contained audio from the mountain detention site.
General Hale ordering the team to abandon prisoners.
Daniel refusing.
Me demanding evacuation.

“Let the dog choose who survives.”
The program director was above Hale.
Dr. Eleanor Ashbourne.
A military psychologist who studied attachment and authority.
She designed both the human and K9 continuity systems.
Hale managed field operations.
Ashbourne decided which identities continued.
The recording also captured the avalanche.
Natsu moving through debris.
Daniel shouting my name.
Then Daniel saying:
“Take Sarah.”
Natsu obeyed.
He left Daniel because Daniel ordered him to save me.
For eight years, I had wondered why the dog did not return for my husband.
He had followed Daniel’s final command.
Daniel heard the recording beside me.
“You were the priority.”
I answered:
“You should not have had to choose.”
The program had turned rescue into a loyalty test.
Then Ashbourne appeared publicly at a veterans’ charity gala.
Surrounded by retired military dogs.
She announced a national “service animal reintegration initiative.”
