Leonard entered a formal cooperation agreement.
He surrendered emails, account records, notarization logs, and the original file containing Catherine’s letter.
He admitted preparing false legal documents.
He admitted redirecting Victor’s investigators.
He admitted using Annie’s identity in financial applications.
Maris accused him of betrayal.
Leonard answered, “You planned to blame me.”
She had.
Investigators found a draft statement naming Leonard as the sole architect of the fraud.
The discovery destroyed their alliance.
The waterfront estate was frozen.
Silver Legacy Management was placed under review.
Assets connected to Annie’s trust were secured.
Victor removed Maris from every company position she held.
He did not transfer authority to himself alone.
Independent trustees and auditors took control.
He had learned what happened when one family member controlled every door.

“Which one is Grandma?”
Victor looked down.
“She hasn’t apologized at all.”
Annie considered this.
“Then I don’t have to see her?”
“No.”
The answer came immediately.
No inheritance, reputation, or family tradition would force Annie into a room with someone she feared.
