The leak did not come from Vittorio’s doctor.
It came from his own executive office.
A junior scheduling manager had been forwarding itinerary details to Marcus for months.
Investigators initially suspected another conspirator.
The truth was less dramatic and more ugly.
Marcus had convinced the employee he was conducting authorized security assessments.
He requested hotel reservations, medical appointments, flight changes and private meeting locations.
The employee believed Marcus had Vittorio’s permission.
Marcus exploited ordinary workplace trust.
That discovery mattered because it showed how his scheme operated.
He rarely asked anyone to commit an obvious crime.
He created situations in which people unknowingly handed him useful pieces.
Bianca operated the same way.
She convinced household staff that Vittorio wanted fewer interruptions.
She told nannies Lucy needed stricter routines.
She explained camera outages as privacy upgrades.
The conspiracy survived because each person saw only one harmless-looking fragment.
Emma was the first person who compared them.
That made her dangerous.
Authorities now had evidence of child mistreatment, manipulated surveillance, unauthorized system access and potentially fraudulent documents.
But the strongest financial motive was still circumstantial.
Then forensic analysts recovered deleted messages from Marcus’s laptop.
Most were incomplete.
One recurring attachment appeared repeatedly.
A draft petition.
It had never been filed.
The document outlined a future claim that Vittorio’s judgment had become impaired and that emergency intervention might eventually be needed to protect Lucy and certain household assets.
Bianca’s name appeared throughout the supporting notes.
She had been preparing to portray herself as the stable adult protecting Lucy from Vittorio.
The woman hurting the child was preparing to present herself as the child’s rescuer.
Vittorio sat alone in his office after reading the report.
That was the moment his anger finally gave way to guilt.
Bianca’s plan had worked for as long as it did because he trusted appearances.
Lucy had paid for that trust.
He could not erase what happened.
He could only change what happened next.
Then investigators recovered one last deleted folder.
Its creation date was three days before the dog-food incident.
