Chapter 11 - THE BAG WAS MINE

The black garbage bag did not come from Richard’s house staff.

I packed it myself three weeks before surgery.

After recovering fragments of my earlier investigation, I placed documents, a flash drive, and my mother’s photograph inside a trash bag because Richard never searched anything he considered worthless.

Then the memory drugs took effect.

I forgot packing it.

Dr. Evans opened the broken picture frame.

Behind my mother’s photograph was a microSD card.

It contained videos of Richard discussing donor schedules, Evelyn tampering with medication, Grace using Maya’s identity, and Victor practicing surgeons’ faces.

Declared dead.

Another sister erased so I could live.

The family donor chain began with me as recipient before I became donor.

I had unknowingly benefited from the same system.

The discovery changed my anger.

Not toward Rachel.

Toward the adults who turned sisters into resources before either could choose.
