Investigators found a hidden calendar behind Daniel’s office wall.
My meals.
Doctor visits.
Medication.
Cycle dates.
Arguments.
Every part of my life had been monitored.
The pregnancy was scheduled before our wedding anniversary.
The driveway assault was scheduled too.
Heavy rain had been predicted.
The water containers were placed outside to create a believable fall.
Claire’s usual morning route had been tracked so she would arrive as witness.
Daniel wanted her to call 911.
The police response was part of the plan.
If I appeared hysterical and violent, he would claim self-defense and emergency medical authority.
But Claire filmed continuously.
The porch camera captured the gun.
Michael appeared inside.
The basement was exposed.
The script collapsed.
Then the calendar showed one final appointment.
DELIVERY — COUNTY GENERAL — DR. VANCE.
