The USB did not contain one magical spreadsheet proving $2.4 million had been stolen.
It contained fragments.
Invoices.
Email exports.
Bank statements.
Contracts.
Audio.
Forensic accountants reconstructed the rest using independently obtained records.
Some transfers had legitimate explanations.
Those were removed from the suspected loss calculation.
Others led deeper.
BCG Strategic Holdings had received hundreds of thousands from businesses connected to my inheritance.
A second company purchased a lake property.
Another funded brokerage investments.
Margaret appeared as authorized signer on one account.
Brandon appeared on another.
The strongest email came from Brandon:
Once Emma signs the management amendment, we can move the rest without triggering Hale’s internal approval.
I had never signed such an amendment.
Then investigators found a draft bearing my signature.
It looked real.
Forensic examination later concluded the signature image had likely been reproduced electronically from another document.
That did not establish every element of fraud by itself.
But combined with computer records, email communications, and bank activity, the evidence became much stronger.
Margaret’s role expanded.
She was not merely the mother protecting her son.
She had helped establish entities.
Reviewed transfers.
Coordinated invoices.
