Chapter 9 - The Education Account

Lakefront Family Holdings had paid Dr. Mercer.
But the same account also made monthly payments to a private school.
My goal was to find out who attended.
Student: Carter Bennett.
Chelsea’s son.
Margaret had secretly been paying his tuition.
Chelsea looked shocked.
She thought the tuition came from a scholarship.
Victor had arranged the paperwork.
Why hide that?
Because the money came from Reed trust assets Margaret had no right to use.
Carter’s education had been funded by money legally tied to Eleanor and eventually Dany.
Margaret had been using Dany’s future assets to benefit Carter while publicly declaring Dany less deserving.
That irony hurt.
But Chelsea looked devastated.
She had built part of her life on stolen money without knowing it.
Then another payment appeared.
Same school.
Different student.
Dylan Reed.
Age nine.
No one in our immediate family had that name.
Thomas recognized it.
His face changed.
“Victor told me he died.”
Who?
His son.
Before Dany.
Thomas had been married briefly in his twenties.
His wife, Rebecca, gave birth to a boy.
The baby supposedly died after surgery.
Thomas never saw a body.
Never saw a death certificate.
He had believed the hospital.
Now a nine-year-old named Dylan Reed attended the same school as Carter under full trust-funded tuition.
We obtained enrollment records.
Guardian: Victor Hale.
Emergency contact: Margaret Carter.
The child existed.
Alive.
Thomas nearly collapsed.
The trust had been paying to raise his hidden son.
Why hide Dylan?
Because Dylan was also Harold Reed’s biological grandson.
He had a claim before Dany.
That changed the succession order.
Dany was not the first child to unite the Reed line.
Dylan had already triggered it nine years earlier.
Margaret had been controlling trust assets through him.
Then why did Dany matter?
Because Dylan’s mother was not part of Eleanor’s line.
Only Thomas’s.
He triggered Thomas’s branch.
Dany united Thomas’s branch with Eleanor’s biological descendant.
Full consolidation.
Dylan gave Margaret partial leverage.
Dany threatened total loss.
Then Thomas remembered Rebecca.
She died shortly after the supposed infant death.
Car accident.
Victor handled the estate.
Again, death near trust paperwork.
Rachel reopened the file.
Rebecca’s vehicle crash had been ruled accidental.
No evidence yet of foul play.
But Victor became Dylan’s guardian three days after her death.
How?
A guardianship document named him as Rebecca’s chosen guardian.
Signature genuine.
But Rebecca’s sister said she hated Victor.
Why choose him?
Then handwriting analysis showed the signature page had been attached to a different document.
Another page substitution.
Pattern repeated.
I thought Margaret had invented these methods recently—but Dylan’s file showed she and Victor had been manipulating family identity and guardianship for nearly a decade.

**The hidden school record proved Margaret had secretly controlled Thomas’s first son for nine years, using him as a living trust asset while telling his father the child was dead.**
*When Thomas finally met Dylan, the boy revealed who had been visiting him every month and calling herself his real grandmother.*
