Chapter 11 - The Stolen Wedding Funds

They set my sweet baby boy on chest.

He had soft dark hair and tiny hands.

I wept tears of relief, kissing his forehead.

"You are safe now, my sweet baby,".

Agent Mara Voss walked into the recovery room.

She held a black encrypted tablet in hand.

"Claire, both mother and baby are doing great."

"Thank you, Mara, for everything today," I.

Mara set the tablet onto my bedside tray.

"We searched Celeste's private bridal suite an hour."

"We found the master offshore account ledger box."

Mara tapped the screen, displaying the financial ledger.

The digital files showed sixty million dollars moved.

Stolen from government relief funds over five years.

Victoria had used the money to buy assets.

She bought vineyards, luxury cars, and diamond jewelry.

Evan was the primary accountant managing the transfers.

And Celeste used the accounts for personal shopping.

The entire family was living on stolen money.

"All sixty million dollars have been frozen," Mara.

"The federal court assigned the vineyard to state."

"The Bellacourt estate is completely liquidated as today."

I looked at the ledger files on screen.

The evidence was ironclad and completely undeniable now.

Victoria, Celeste, and Evan faced twenty years each.

They would spend the rest of lives behind.

"What about Evan's parental rights, Mara?"

"The judge signed the emergency termination order," Mara.
