Chapter 9 - Breaking the Oak Lock

Evan froze at the rear kitchen exit door.
He turned around slowly, his hands in air.
His black tuxedo was soaked with nervous sweat.
"Daniel... I mean Agent Voss, please listen!"
Evan stammered out, his voice cracking with fear.
"My mother made me do all of it!"
"She forced me to sign those offshore papers!"
Agent Mara walked up to Evan with cold.
"You left your pregnant wife locked in labor."
"You are just as guilty as your mother."
Mara snatched his arms behind his back hard.
Cold steel handcuffs snapped shut around his wrists.
Evan fell to his knees on marble floor.
He wept pathetic tears, looking toward the hallway.
"Claire... please tell them to go easy!"
"I am the father of your child!"
I was being wheeled out on a gurney.
Two paramedics pushed my rolling bed toward entrance.
I looked down at Evan sitting in cuffs.
My eyes were granite cold, without any pity.
"You are no father to my child, Evan."
I stated, letting my voice ring across ballroom.
"You are just a convict going to prison."
The wedding guests watched in total, stunned silence.
The entire Bellacourt family was handcuffed in ballroom.
Mother, daughter, and son were completely destroyed today.
The paramedics pushed my gurney out the doors.
An emergency ambulance sat waiting with doors open.
