Chapter 12 - LIAM’S STATEMENT

Liam described Madison telling him to carry the glass near her dress.

She promised Noah would be safe if he obeyed.

He did not know who Noah was.

Only that a boy in a video cried.

He carried responsibility no child should hold.

The judge stopped questioning when his breathing changed.

His safety mattered more than completeness.

The jury convicted Madison of assault, child endangerment, conspiracy, fraud, and attempted guardianship manipulation.

Victor received a long sentence for procurement fraud and child research.

My father and mother were convicted on financial, trafficking, and conspiracy charges.

Executives, doctors, and security operators received varied sentences.

Madison cooperated internationally and received consideration but remained accountable.

Carter Defense entered public receivership.

Employees preserved legitimate armor production under independent oversight.

The trust transferred voting power to workers and victim representatives.

No Carter family member controlled it.

Then the Army located the sniper.

Sergeant Major Helen Ward.

She had served under me.

Trusted.

Decorated.

Carter Defense held her daughter inside a training program.

Helen fired near Madison intentionally, missing her, to create time for escape.

She did not intend to kill.

But she obstructed arrest.

Fear and loyalty again.

Her daughter was recovered.

Helen surrendered.

Then the sniper rifle contained a storage chip.

One current operation remained.
