People treat estate planning like romance until death tests every ambiguity.

Lily had no role.

She remained Ethan’s nanny.
Not trustee.
Not guardian by default.
Not secret family member.
If I died, guardianship nominations followed a separate plan involving my sister, Elizabeth Blackwood, who lived in Connecticut and had an established relationship with Ethan.
