His name was Michael Donovan.
A volunteer legal investigator.
Unlike everyone else, he never asked if I was guilty.
He asked why I confessed so quickly.
The question stayed with me.
Over months, he quietly gathered public records.
Corporate filings.
Property transfers.
Bank timelines.
Nothing illegal.
Just facts.
One afternoon he slid a folder across the table.
"You should look at this after you're released."
Inside were copies of documents showing something strange.
The family home...
...had never legally left my name.
Nobody could explain why.
Michael smiled carefully.
"Someone made a mistake."
Or maybe...
Someone got greedy too fast.
Before I left prison, he handed me a second item.
A smartphone.
"My investigators recovered something interesting."
May you like
He never explained further.
👉 I didn't understand what was hidden inside that phone—until I turned it on outside my mother's house.
