One year later the garden behind the estate echoed with laughter.
Arthur stood at the grill flipping burgers while Maya did cartwheels across the lawn with her golden retriever puppy chasing her.
The silver hummingbird now hung from Arthur’s neck.
“Dad!” Maya shouted. “Burger! I’m starving!”
Arthur laughed.
The weight he had carried for years was finally gone.
He had stepped down as CEO months ago.
For the first time in his life, money wasn’t the thing that mattered most.
“Coming right up, sweetheart.”
