Margaret sat at the center.
Jason and Ryan blamed her.
Kyle blamed fear.
Corrupt doctors blamed legal orders.
Judges blamed medical experts.
Everyone claimed they followed someone stronger.
The prosecution showed the basement video first.
Jason dragging me.
Kyle laughing.
Ryan watching.
The blue phone light.
The emergency dispatcher.
Then the unedited footage.
Every command.
Every strike beside my hands.
Every discussion about moving my body.
The jury watched silence become participation.
Sarah testified.

Rebecca testified about the cloud account and my isolation.
Hannah and Daniel did not testify publicly.
Child advocates protected them.
I testified last.
Jason’s attorney asked why I had not left sooner.
“Because every exit was described to me as a cliff.”

Ryan’s attorney argued the embryo procedure made him Lily’s father.
Rebecca Sloan asked him whether biological connection created the right to chain the child’s mother.
He had no answer.
Margaret testified in her own defense.
She called the program medical innovation.
She said the women received housing, treatment, and financial security.
The prosecutor asked why those benefits required chains.
Margaret looked toward me.
“Some people resist what is good for them.”
That sentence convicted her more powerfully than any document.
The jury found Margaret guilty on every major count.
Jason was convicted of attempted murder, kidnapping, assault, reproductive conspiracy, and fraud.
Ryan was convicted of trafficking, conspiracy, medical assault, and attempted abduction.
Kyle received a reduced but substantial sentence after cooperation.
Doctors and judges faced separate convictions.
The Carter clinics were seized.
Treatment patents became public.
The underground rooms were opened to investigators and then destroyed.
Justice did not make my ankle stop aching.
It did not erase Noah’s fear or Hannah’s conditioning.
It did not return the pregnancies taken from other women.
But it ended the family’s legal ownership over our bodies.
Then Margaret’s attorney filed an appeal based on newly discovered evidence.
