The police secured the entrance.
I finally entered the mansion.
The place looked perfect.
Expensive furniture.
Perfect decorations.
A picture of a happy family.
A complete lie.
An officer found Audrey upstairs.
She was alive.
But barely holding herself together.
The second she saw me, she broke.
“Dad…”
I hugged her carefully.
Avoiding her injuries.
“I’m here.”
She whispered:
“I tried to leave.”
I looked at her.
“Why didn’t you?”
Her eyes moved toward the hallway.
“Because they took everything.”
Her phone.
Her documents.
Her money.
Her identity.
Julian had isolated her completely.
Then she handed me something hidden in her dress.
A small flash drive.
“I saved this.”
I looked at it.
“What is it?”
Her voice dropped.
“Proof.”
Before I could ask more, an officer called my name.
They found something in Julian’s office.
A locked cabinet.
Inside was a folder.
