The trial lasted nine weeks.
The prosecution proved the basement attack, illegal implantation, kidnapping, child trafficking, forced guardianships, medical fraud, and conspiracy.
Margaret remained composed until Emma entered the courtroom.
The copy she created had chosen her own name.
Her own attorney.
Her own testimony.
Emma described being trained to become me.

Signature practice.
Voice lessons.
Medical procedures.
She looked directly at Margaret.
“You said identity was a privilege.”
Margaret replied from the defense table, “I gave you purpose.”
Emma answered, “You gave me instructions.”
Sarah testified about Noah.
Melissa testified about her confinement.
Rebecca Miller testified about the medication system.
Andrew testified about the aircraft.
I testified about the collar and the recorder.
Lily’s statement remained sealed.
No child owed the public her pain.
The jury convicted Margaret on all principal counts.
Jason was convicted of attempted murder, trafficking, assault, coercion, reproductive fraud, and conspiracy.
Samuel received multiple life sentences.
Morris was convicted of obstruction and conspiracy.
Tyler and Chris received prison sentences for their roles.
The clinics were dissolved.
The treatment formulas entered public ownership.
Every rescued child received independent care.
Justice did not create an uncomplicated family.
Lily visited longer each week.
Grace’s parents agreed to supervised biological contact.
Emma decided to continue her pregnancy and live separately from me.
Noah began speaking to Sarah through letters.
Nothing moved quickly.
That was healthy.
My daughter was born at thirty-four weeks.
Strong cry.
Dark hair.
I named her Hope.
Emma delivered a girl one month later.

A woman whispered:

Another voice answered:
