Chapter 13 - THE OTHER SARAH

The woman’s name was Nora Bennett.
She had been trained inside Continuity Partners to replace corporate wives after “public fracture events.”
Her appearance had been altered gradually through surgery.
She knew my company, marriage, childhood, and voice.
She also believed I had stolen the life promised to her.
Eleanor Ashbourne raised her with that story.
Nora watched Grace because she believed biological children were keys to proving which Sarah held legitimate identity.
Federal agents arrested her without violence.
Her records revealed she had entered my apartment several times during business trips.
Some memories I attributed to Daniel may have involved Nora.
She had signed employee contracts, accessed my wardrobe, and recorded my private calls.
When we met under supervision, she stared at me.
“You look less like me in person.”
“You were made to look like me.”
She flinched.
Identity conditioning had reversed cause and effect.
Nora admitted taking the photograph of Emma from the doorway. Helen’s phone had been used only to transmit it.
My mother’s compromise still occurred.
But another person created the image.
Nora had also monitored Grace’s home to prevent Olivia’s remaining agents from reaching her—or so she claimed.
She believed surveillance was protection.
The pattern persisted.
We did not offer instant absolution.
Nora received independent treatment and faced charges for unlawful entry, identity fraud, and surveillance.
Her cooperation led to the final Continuity training center.
Inside were rooms replicating kitchens, nurseries, courtrooms, and balconies.
Actors practiced family cruelty.
Substitutes learned signatures.
Doctors rehearsed diagnoses.
Judges rehearsed emergency hearings.
The program turned intimate betrayal into standardized procedure.
The archive contained scripts for my dinner.
Olivia’s line: “She needed to learn.”
Daniel’s line: “Don’t cause a scene.”
My expected line: “You’ll regret this.”
I had said something different.
“You’ll understand tomorrow.”
That unscripted sentence changed their timing.
The network expected rage.
I chose action.
They expected a threat.
I sent evidence.
Small deviations broke complex plans.
The task force used that insight to identify other active operations through script language.
Families across the country were warned before planned events.
Some parents believed the warnings.
Others defended relatives.
Prevention remained difficult.
But the system no longer operated invisibly.
Then my company’s anti-fraud platform detected a transfer pattern tied to Continuity Partners’ European branch.
One beneficiary account belonged to Emma Mitchell.
Created before her birth.
Another belonged to Sarah Mitchell.
Created twenty years before I married Daniel.
The network had selected my identity when I was a teenager.
Someone had been shaping my education, career, and relationships for decades.
The sponsor listed on the account was Helen Parker.

My mother had not only been coerced later.
She had enrolled me in the program first.
