After Jason left the room briefly, the female officer picked up my hospital bag.
The same bag he had thrown.
The same bag that carried everything I needed.
Inside was a small folder.
Jason saw it when he returned.
“What is that?”
I didn’t answer.

That my belongings were meaningless.
The general looked at him.
“You should be careful with things you do not understand.”
Jason stepped closer.
“You keep talking like she’s someone important.”

“Sir.”

“What happened?”

“Someone attempted to access Emily’s records.”
Jason went still.
The mistress noticed.
“You knew about this?”
Jason didn’t answer.
