Agents pinned Lorraine down, snapping iron handcuffs on.
Cold steel ratcheted tight around her bloody wrists fast.
Agent Harris kicked her dropped weapon away across floor.
"Lorraine Carter, your escape attempt is officially over."
"You face additional federal charges of attempted murder."
Paramedics rushed into the house carrying a gurney unit.
They loaded Lorraine onto the rolling medical bed frame.
Lorraine glared at me as they pushed her out.
"You will never escape my shadow, Emily!" Lorraine.
"I am your real blood! You are just!"
I looked down at her with complete emotional detachment.
"My real mother is standing right beside me, Lorraine."
I pointed to Margaret, who held my hand tight.
The paramedics wheeled Lorraine out to the ambulance.
Heavy steel doors slammed shut with a final thud.
The police convoy drove away, sirens fading into night.
Peace finally returned to our quiet home at last.
Agent Harris smiled warmly, putting away his sidearm weapon.
"You two are completely safe now, ladies."
"Lorraine will be held in a maximum security facility."
