Chapter 6 - The Lawyer's Ambush

As police reached the locked front glass entrance doors,
A sleek black Mercedes pulled onto the curb outside.
A man in a pinstripe suit rushed toward entrance.
It was Arthur Vance, Victor's personal defense attorney.
He carried a thick leather document folder in hand.
The manager unlocked the glass door to let him.
Arthur Vance strode into the restaurant with arrogant power.
"Halt this arrest immediately, Officer Davis!" Arthur shouted.
"I have an emergency court injunction signed this afternoon!"
"A state judge granted my client temporary full immunity!"
Victor let out a loud, weeping sigh of relief.
"Arthur! Save us! They locked us in here!"
Arthur Vance looked at my mother with smug condescension.
"Judge Hayes, your judicial authority expired upon retirement."
"My clients are walking out of this building right now."
Margaret let out a low, chilling, confident, quiet laugh.
"Read the seal on your injunction paper, Arthur," Margaret.
Arthur Vance frowned, looking down at his white document.
"The seal belongs to Judge Thomas," Arthur stated firmly.
"Judge Thomas was arrested thirty minutes ago," Margaret answered.
