Chapter 4 - Police at the Door

Heavy kitchen doors swung open with a loud thud.
Four uniformed police officers marched into the dining room.
Officer Davis led the squad with his weapon unholstered.
"Judge Hayes! We received your emergency silent alert!"
Margaret pointed her finger directly at Victor's pale face.
"Officer Davis, arrest Victor Carter for felony domestic assault."
"And arrest Lorraine Carter as an active co-conspirator."
Lorraine screamed out loudly, dropping her expensive leather handbag.
"I didn't touch her! I just drank my wine!"
"You ordered the assault, Lorraine," I spoke up firmly.
"You told him to discipline me in front of everyone."
Officer Davis did not hesitate for a single second today.
He grabbed Victor's wrist, twisting his arm back hard.
Cold steel handcuffs clicked shut around Victor's thick wrists.
Victor groaned in pain, forced down onto his knees.
The polished hardwood floor soaked up his navy trousers.
A second officer grabbed Lorraine's arms behind her back.
Steel cuffs ratcheted tightly around her manicured wrists fast.
"Get your hands off me, you filthy peasants!" Lorraine.
