Chapter 3 - OWEN

Owen had been born with a heart condition.

Julian refused corrective surgery because the trust required all three children to pass a private genetic screening before their second birthday.

If surgery altered Owen’s records, the inheritance challenge could be delayed.

So he hid the baby inside a private neonatal residence under another surname.

Audrey traced him to St. Catherine’s Pediatric Center.

The facility claimed Owen had been abandoned.

The intake form carried my signature.

Forgery.

When police arrived, the room was empty.

The bassinet remained warm.

Someone had moved him minutes earlier.

Security footage showed a woman in a lavender dress leaving through the service elevator.

Sienna denied it was her.

The timestamp proved she had been standing beside Julian in the hallway when the woman left.

Another woman had been made to look like her.

The fertility network did not only manipulate embryos.

It trained replacement mothers.

Then Noah began crying whenever Sienna moved away from the door.

He recognized someone outside.

A second Sienna stood behind the conference-room glass.

Same dress.

Same pearls.

Same face.

She held Owen.
