The audit was not complete.
But it was enough.
My attorney explained that money had been moved through several accounts connected to Lorraine’s business.
Daniel immediately interrupted.
“That proves nothing.”
But his reaction proved something.
He knew.
The apartment wasn’t the real goal.
It was leverage.
The property transfer would cover missing funds.
Rachel’s name would make everything look legitimate.
I listened quietly.
For the first time, I wasn’t defending myself.
I was watching them panic.
Lorraine looked at Daniel.
“You said this was handled.”
That sentence exposed more than anything else.
Daniel looked at her.
“You need to stop talking.”

My attorney heard everything.
Then he placed another document on the table.
A copy of a transaction.
Signed electronically.
Using my information.
But I never approved it.
Someone had forged my authorization.
Daniel looked at the paper.
