Daniel had been offered debt relief by the Shaw Research Foundation.
In exchange, he attended “family wellness meetings” and documented my health.
At first, he believed it was preventive care.
Later, he knew they wanted fertility and surgical data.
He stayed silent because his business depended on the funding.
Love and betrayal had lived inside the same marriage.
He said he tried to stop after our engagement.
Records showed he accepted one final payment the week before the wedding.
I asked him to leave the hospital room.
He did.
No shouting.
No dramatic collapse.
Only the end of trust.
Then Claire surrendered.

If the appendix rupture did not kill me, a “complication” would.
