Chapter 10 - THE SIX ELENAS

We entered Fort Ashbury under a federal warrant after Dylan’s partial transmission finally reached command.

No secret raid.

No private authority.

The operation included military investigators, federal agents, and independent observers.

The six Elena subjects stood in separate glass firing booths.

Claire.

Mara.

Rachel.

Sophie.

Anna.

And an empty booth labeled CURRENT ELENA.

Mine.

Each woman had a different history.

One had served in Europe.

One in the Pacific.

One in special operations.

All carried fragments of my legal identity.

Voss appeared on the central screen.

He said only one profile could survive the night.

The final target would reveal the traitor who killed Samuel Carter.

Every woman wanted the answer.

That desire was the trap.

The target screens activated.

Each showed a different suspect.

Marcus.

Voss.

Sarah.

Ryan.

Dylan.

Me.

The program expected us to fire based on private grief.

Claire raised her rifle first.

Then looked at me.

“You said never trust the target they reveal.”

She lowered it.

One by one, the others followed.

The archive began rejecting all six.

Then Voss released live ammunition into every booth.
