Vincent Cole had moved to Florida.
Retired.
Married.
Living in a gated community fifteen minutes from the ocean.
Federal agents and Massachusetts investigators interviewed him after evidence connected the old crash to current kidnapping activity.
At first he denied everything.
Then they showed him the $75,000 payment.
Then the old repair estimate.
Then Wynn’s handwritten file.
Then Veronica’s recorded statement.

His attorney asked for a break.
When they returned, Vincent talked.
Harold hired him to “scare a spoiled rich girl.”
That was how Amelia had been described.
Vincent followed her after she left a friend’s apartment.

“For Amelia?”
“No.”
Vincent said Harold wanted access to an old private airstrip near Albany.
He claimed a client might need to leave the country without public attention.
The request had sounded illegal enough that Vincent refused.
Now investigators checked the airstrip.
No flight yet.
But a hangar company had received $38,000 from one of Wynn’s accounts that morning.
