Chapter 11 - The Emergency Delivery

The ambulance slammed to a stop at ER entrance.
Trauma doctors rushed out with a rolling bed unit.
They wheeled Elena straight into the delivery surgical suite.
Doctor Sarah Jenkins led the emergency medical team fast.
"Priority C-section required immediately!" Doctor Jenkins shouted.
"The maternal blood pressure is spiking dangerously high!"
They pushed me into a clean sterile hospital gown.
I sat beside Elena's head inside the operating room.
Bright overhead surgical lights shone down on her face.
Monitors beeped loudly in the cold room air space.
Elena held my hand with all her remaining strength.
"Daniel... promise me our baby girl will be safe..."
"I promise you, my love, I promise you."
Doctor Jenkins worked with fast, precise surgical skill.
Minutes felt like long, agonizing, terrifying hours today.
Suddenly, a loud, clear, healthy baby cry rang out.
The sound echoed through the sterile surgical room space.
"It's a healthy baby girl!" Doctor Jenkins announced.
Tears of pure, overwhelming joy flooded my eyes today.
They wrapped the baby in a soft pink blanket.
They set our daughter gently onto Elena's chest.
Elena wept tears of relief, kissing baby's forehead.
"She's beautiful, Daniel..." Elena whispered softly.
"She's perfect, sweetheart," I replied, kissing Elena.
Doctor Jenkins confirmed Elena's vitals were stabilizing safely.
Both mother and baby were completely out of danger.
My family was safe from my mother's cruelty.
We were wheeled into a quiet, private recovery room.
Little baby Clara slept peacefully in her wooden crib.
Elena rested comfortably, color returning to her cheeks.
I sat beside her bed, holding her warm hand.
Everything seemed peaceful, secure, and complete at last.
Then a knock sounded on the wooden room door.
