Chapter 7 - THE CHILD I WAS TOLD DIED

Before Clara, before my public marriage, I became pregnant at twenty-nine.

My parents sent me to Europe.

I delivered a boy.

They told me he died after birth.

I never saw the body.

The child survived.

His name was Dominic Ward.

Nathan had raised him.

Dominic was my biological son.

Clara’s husband was also her uncle.

My own son had married my daughter under a hidden identity structure designed to merge the Sterling and Ward bloodlines.

I could not breathe when the DNA report confirmed it.

Dominic had not known at first.

Nathan told him after the wedding.

Instead of exposing the truth and protecting Clara, Dominic turned his horror into cruelty.

He blamed her for representing the family that abandoned him.

Every bruise became revenge against me through my daughter.

Nathan created the marriage deliberately.

He wanted his son and mine bound to Clara, producing heirs no court could easily untangle.

Clara looked at me.

“Did you know?”

“No.”

“Did you ever suspect?”

“No.”

She believed me, but belief did not repair the damage.

Then Dominic released a video online claiming Clara had attacked him and fled with stolen documents.

The footage showed only the final seconds of an argument.

The full mansion camera archive showed his threats and her injuries.

Truth survived because evidence existed beyond his control.

Then police located Dominic at the old Sterling greenhouse.
