Chapter 8 - VIVIAN

Vivian had escaped the hospital after learning Nathan planned to kill her.
She contacted Dominic, believing he might help.
Instead, he kidnapped her because she carried the only living signature capable of authorizing the Sterling trust transfer.
Dominic forced her to sign documents as Victoria.
She refused.
He broke two fingers.
Police recovered her alive.
Our first meeting happened in a hospital room.
We had the same eyes.
Different lives.
She looked at me and said:
“You got the name.”
I answered:
“You got the truth about our parents.”
Neither was comfort.
Vivian admitted she helped Nathan create the first embryo transfers.
She wanted recognition.
She ignored what the children would become.
Victim and participant.
Both.
Then she gave me one final secret.
Richard Sterling had not died.
My husband had staged his death after discovering Nathan’s scheme.
He had been hiding inside the Sterling security network.
The unidentified deep voice on the phone might not have been Nathan.
It might have been Richard.
