Tessa had become the problem.
Not because she was disloyal.
Because she noticed everything.
Noah's bruises.

Grant believed her enough not to fire her.

“You almost believed her.”
Grant didn't defend himself.
“Yes.”
That answer mattered.
“I was wrong.”

“She wanted me gone because Noah couldn't tell you what was happening.”
Grant looked toward his son.

After caregiver termination, document increased distress.
Vivienne:
Easy. He screams whenever I touch him now.
Grant stopped reading.
That sentence destroyed any remaining possibility that Vivienne misunderstood what she was doing.
She knew Noah feared her.
She planned to use that fear as evidence against Grant.
Then Melissa discovered Pierce had already drafted the petition.
It claimed Noah's distress worsened whenever Grant returned home.
A complete inversion of reality.
Tessa whispered:
“He calms down when Grant comes home.”

Then Grant remembered the tablet.
The home-monitoring app had remained active during several earlier video calls.
Those recordings weren't part of Vivienne's system.
She couldn't delete them.

One recording showed Grant arriving home.
Noah immediately crawled toward him laughing.
Another showed Vivienne entering ten minutes later.
Noah began crying.
