Chapter 5 - The Visit That Was A Trap

The moment the visitation ended, I knew something was wrong.
Chloe wasn’t supposed to come alone.
Someone arranged this.
Someone wanted her to deliver the paper.
But why?
During my walk back to my cell, I couldn’t stop thinking.
Who benefited from my conviction?
Who needed me silent?
That night, a correctional officer slipped a note through my cell door.
No name.
No explanation.
Only one sentence.
“Stop asking questions.”
I stared at it.
Because I hadn’t asked anyone anything yet.
Someone was watching me.
Then I noticed something else.
The handwriting.
I had seen it before.
