Michael tried to take the documents.

I stepped back.

“No.”

He stared at me.

“You’re choosing a confused old man over your family?”

I looked at Grandpa.

Then back at him.

“Yes.”

That answer shocked him.

Because he expected hesitation.

He expected loyalty.

The next morning, I contacted an attorney.

The property records were reviewed.

The documents were fraudulent.

Someone copied Grandpa’s signature.

Someone witnessed the transfer.
