Chapter 5 - RACHEL’S SILENCE

Rachel had not cried because Arthur threatened April.
Three weeks earlier, she overheard him and Vanessa discussing forged guardianship transfers. She recorded them on her tablet.
Arthur caught her.
He said April would be sent away if Rachel spoke.
So Rachel became silent.
She had memorized the passcode to Arthur’s burner phone. That code opened the stolen bank footage.
The woman in the vault was Evelyn, not Rose.
Evelyn had lied because she wanted the trust records for herself. Years of being the hidden sister had made her believe she deserved part of Rose’s life.
She claimed she was exposing Arthur. She was also preparing to challenge Lucy’s inheritance.
Then box 42 was opened.
Rachel carried the same genetic marker required by the trust.
All three girls did.
Rose had divided the estate:
Lucy received the property trust.
Rachel received medical patents.
April received church land.
The sisters were being separated by money just as Rose and her sisters had been.
April whispered, “I don’t want any land.”
