Chapter 7 - The Daughter No One Knew

The video was recorded inside a private estate.

Morales recognized the fireplace behind Cassandra.

The Vale family’s mountain house.

Two hours north.

Police prepared a tactical response.

I watched the video again.

Lily looked weak.

Her skin was pale.

A central line entered her chest.

She needed treatment.

But Cassandra was not asking for a legal transplant.

She was demanding my son.

Noah woke beside me.

“Mom, is Toby okay?”

“Yes.”

“Did Cassandra hurt him?”

“She did.”

He looked toward the screen.

“Who’s that girl?”

“Her daughter.”

Noah studied Lily’s face.

“She looks sick.”

“She is.”

He swallowed.

“Was she going to take my blood?”

“More than blood.”

His eyes widened.

I took his hand.

“No one will touch you again.”

Elijah called through Cassandra’s phone.

His voice was controlled.

“Naomi, don’t come.”

Cassandra struck him.

The sound carried through the line.

“You don’t get to protect her now,” she said.

I asked to speak with Lily.

Cassandra hesitated.

Then the girl appeared.

“Hi,” I said softly. “I’m Dr. Naomi Carter.”

“Are you bringing the boy?”

My heart broke.

“What did your mother tell you?”

“That he can make me better.”

“No child should be hurt to save another child.”

Lily began crying.

“I don’t want him hurt.”

Cassandra pulled the phone away.

“You don’t understand what it is to lose a child.”

“I do.”

Silence.

“You took mine from me six months ago.”

Her expression hardened.

“That was Elijah.”

“You gave him the evidence.”

She did not deny it.

Cassandra had forged the reports used in my custody case.

She targeted me because Noah’s genetics made him valuable.

She needed Elijah to gain legal access.

The custody battle was never about whether I was a good mother.

It was a kidnapping disguised as law.

Morales traced the live call.

The signal came from the mountain estate.

Police moved.

I stayed at the hospital with Noah.

Then Toby woke.

He asked for me.

When I entered, he held out a small silver ring.

“I took it from the man.”

Adrian’s ring.

Inside was an engraved symbol.

A serpent wrapped around a crown.

Morales recognized it from an earlier federal case involving illegal organ trafficking.

This was bigger than Lily.

Adrian had used Cassandra’s desperation to build a donor pipeline.

Children were matched, abducted, and moved through private clinics.

Lily was one patient among many.

Cassandra may have started with her daughter.

But she had helped create something far worse.

The mountain house raid began at 2:00 a.m.

Then all communication stopped.

A final radio transmission came through.

“House empty. Tunnel open. Hostages moved.”

Cassandra had known they were coming.

And someone inside law enforcement had warned her again.

👉 The empty mountain house proved Cassandra had a police informant, and the silver ring connected Noah’s kidnapping to an international network trafficking children for illegal transplants.
