The heavy metal doors slammed shut with thuds.
The police cars drove away down long driveway.

"Let's get you inside where it is warm."
We walked up the marble steps into foyer.
The warm air conditioning hit my wet shivering skin.
Security guards loaded my wet clothes into bags.
I stood in the center of grand entrance.
I looked around at the crystal chandeliers glistening.
This mansion was built by my mother's family.
And now it was fully restored to me.
My baby kicked softly inside my round stomach.
